Delete your VOKPIT account
Two ways to request deletion:
- In the app, for any account, Google or email:
Settings › Store and license › Account › Delete my account, then confirm. An email
account confirms by typing its password again. For a Google account, if a Google window opens,
pick the same Google account you are signed in with: another account is refused
and nothing is deleted. Deletion is immediate.
On iPhone: Settings › Store and account › Account › Delete my account. The app asks you to sign in again with the same account (Apple, Google or email). For an account created with Sign in with Apple, we also ask Apple to revoke the authorization given to VOKPIT; if that fails, the app explains how to turn it off yourself in the iPhone settings. - By email, if you no longer have the app: write to [contact address to come] from your account's email address (your Google or Apple account's address, or your VOKPIT email account's address), with the subject "VOKPIT account deletion". We reply to confirm the request comes from you, then delete the account and confirm it to you, within 30 days at most.
What is deleted
- Your account: identifier, email address and, for an email account, your password hash.
- The link between your account and your sign-in identities (Google, Apple, email).
- All sessions open on your phones.
- The server copy of your settings and data (sync).
- The hazards you shared with other riders (the 200 most recent; older ones expire on their own, within 28 days at most), and the list that tied them to your account.
- The email address carried by a gift key tied to your account (a key that asked you to sign in to activate it).
An email verification or password reset link you already received stops working once the account is deleted; it erases itself within 24 hours at most.
What is kept, and why
- The activation code and the pseudonymous identifiers of the devices it was activated on: they keep the licence already activated on your phones working, and are kept while the licence is in use.
- The licence already activated on your phones keeps working: it does not depend on the account. It stays on the phone until you uninstall the app or clear its data (Android Settings › Apps › VOKPIT › Storage › Clear data).
- A gift key activated without signing in is tied to no account: the address it carries stays while the key is in use.
- A subscription bought in Google Play is not tied to the VOKPIT account and our servers keep nothing of it: deleting the account does not stop it. Cancel it in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions); Google keeps the purchase under its own policy.
- A subscription bought in the App Store belongs to your Apple Account and our servers keep nothing of it: deleting the account does not stop it. Cancel it in your Apple Account settings (Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions) or with the "Cancel or manage my subscription" button in the Store; Apple keeps the purchase under its own policy.
- One line in the operations log, 3 years: the date, the account reference, its activation codes and the sign-in type (Google, Apple, e-mail), without e-mail address or Google or Apple identifier, to be able to prove the deletion.
- The log of published hazards, one year after each hazard you shared: the account reference, the hazard's identifier and type and the time, never your IP address, to answer a court order.
- Backup copies of the service: 7 days at Cloudflare, and one encrypted copy a day at Clouvider, kept 30 days. They only serve to rebuild the service after an outage, and your data leaves them within 30 days of the deletion. The service's former database, frozen in October 2026 and never read since, keeps what it held then until it is erased.
Live tracking is never tied to an account; its data is deleted within 24 hours in every case. Your "still there" and "gone" on other riders' hazards stay until those hazards expire, under a pseudonym, without your account or address; only the account reference kept for 3 years in the log of operations could still link them to it.
Deleting only part of your data
- Synced data, without deleting the account: Sync › Erase my synced data screen. The server copy is erased and sync turns off.
- Hazard sharing, without deleting the account: Road hazards screen, the switch for sharing with other riders. Nothing more is sent or received; what you already shared is not withdrawn, it expires on its own (28 days at most) or other riders remove it.
- Data on the phone (ride log, garage, hazards, settings): it does not leave the phone except through sync, and except hazards shared with other riders. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data in Android settings, deletes it from the phone.
